Glad to see "uber" is in vogue

It's so cute when a 75-year-old conservative newspaper columnist teaches you the slang that all thems kids is using these days.

William Safire, I'm gonna miss you and your linguistic pedantry.

Inform yourself and Mr. Safire that despite the line between American and German (and the line between spoken and written word), it's "ueber", not "uber". Better yet is "über". We won the war and filled their country with Starbucks and H&Ms. No need to rub it in by bastardizing their language, too.

Oh, I'm fully aware of my accent marks, thank you very much. However, computer keyboards designed for American users do not favor the worldly. Or, for that matter, the Mötley Crüe fans.
